Purpose

To provide a direct voice for La Sierra University student-athletes to offer input, communication, and participation in University and Cal Pac conference-wide objectives, in order to continually enhance the student-athlete experience.

  • Create an avenue for taking action on topics of special interest to student-athletes.
  • Provide input on issues regarding student-athlete welfare and experience
  • Actively educate student-athletes on University, Cal Pac & NAIA policies and information
  • Promote and enhance the Cal Pac Champions of Character programs and initiatives
  • Provide a direct forum for prompt responses to student-athlete ideas and concerns
  • Promote communication between University Administration, Athletics Administration to Student-Athletes
  • Bring together all athletic teams

  • Organize community outreach efforts
  • Promote a positive student-athlete image both on campus and in community

Mission Statement

The mission of La Sierra University's SAAC, is to strive for a positive and beneficial student-athlete experience on campus and in the community. It is the body which student-athletes are provided a voice within their department. We promote a positive student-athlete image by demonstrating servant leadership, sportsmanship, respect, and integrity.

Membership Requirements
  • Each team should have 1-2 reps
  • Must be a student-athlete
  • Obtain at least minimum GPA requirement of 2.3
  • Coach approved/elected
  • Responsible and motivated
  • Any member of any team may come to any meeting if they so choose, but they do not have the power to vote
  • Membership shall not be denied to any student on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability

Member Duties
  • Attend all meetings and events
  • Members may only miss meetings for: competition, class, illness, & finals
  • Must let the Advisor know if you cannot attend a meeting/events
  • At all times, ASA members must keep their teams educated about relevant issues discussed during ASA meetings.
  • Must act as leaders and liaisons within their teams
