The La Sierra Womens basketball team opened play in the inaugural MLK
Classic tournament in Huntsville, Alabama with a convincing 67-36 victory
over the host Oakwood Ambassadors.
The Goldeneagles never trailed in a game that saw them take 32-11 lead
into halftime and never look back. La Sierra used an aggressive man
defense to shut down Oakwood and cruised in the 2nd half for their 4th win
in a row.
La Sierra was led by Freshman
Joirdan Jones with 25 points and 8 rebounds.
This was Joirdan's 4th consecutive game with at least 23 points and 8
rebounds. "Joirdan has really taken her game to a new level" said Coach
Thorson. "she has become a true leader on this very young team" Freshman
"double-double".
Next up for the Ladies Eagles is Andrews University. The Golden
Eagles are in search of yet another victory!
