Riverside, CA - With
over two weeks between their final match of the regular season and the
Association of Independent Institutions Conference playoffs, the Golden Eagles
added a match against West Coast Baptist for this afternoon. In an effort to stay in game shape form, the
Golden Eagles hosted West Coast Baptist for the third time this season. La Sierra had won the previous two meetings
between the two teams this season.
Friday's match made it three out of three for the Golden Eagles over
West Coast Baptist, in three straight games, 25-21, 25-18, 25-14.
Lina Semaia led the Golden Eagles with nine kills. Shelby Madigan finished with seven kills on
12 attempts and five digs. Siao Malepeai
also added six kills. Colleen Stafford
finished with 17 assists and six digs while Tiana Whitlock pitched in with six
assists and six digs of her own.
The Golden Eagles, now 21-11 on the season, will turn their
attention to the AII Conference playoffs that will take place next weekend,
November 8-10. The tournament will be
played at Mayville State in Mayville, North Dakota. La Sierra is the No. 3 seed. They will face Mayville State in the opening
match, followed by a match against CSU San Marcos. Please stay tuned for more information.
