While the Golden Eagles were able to take a set in the match, the Cougars were able to cruise to a 3-1 victory, 25-16, 19-25, 25-17, 25-17.

The Cougars wasted no time taking control of the match, by taking the first set in convincing fashion. The set began with the Golden Eagles taking an early 8-3 lead, before Azusa tied the score at 13-13 midway through Set 1. But eight straight points scored by the Cougars, paced them to outscore La Sierra 12-3 in the second half of the match.

In another set of runs, the Cougars took control of Set 3 early on and never looked back. The Cougars started things off with a 9-3 run to take an early lead. Azusa Pacific really separated themselves with a 10-4 run, pushing their lead to 20-9 on their way to a 2-1 advantage in the match.

Similar to the first set, the first half of the set was played relatively even; with the Cougars holding a slim 14-13 lead midway through the half. But Azusa rattled off five straight points on their way to finish the set and the match off with an 11-4 run.
