No. 3 Royals Down Golden Eagles

Fullerton, Calif. - The men's basketball team dropped to 0-9 on the season after a 104-60 loss at #3 Hope International University.

After defeating the Golden Eagles a few weeks back, the third ranked (NAIA Division I) Royals held La Sierra to just 17 first half points and cruised to their 10th straight victory to start the season.

The Royals dominated the play in the paint by outscoring the Golden Eagles 52-20 down low. They also took advantage of 21 turnovers, committed by La Sierra, turning them into 36 points.

The Royals had six players who scored in double figures, led by guard Kenny Morgan who scored 21 points.

Ian Mozeleski who finished with 22 points and Isaiah Hawkins who added 13 points led the Golden Eagles. The two guards were a combined 6 of 10 from the three-point line, with each knocking down three shots from beyond the arc.

The men's basketball team will now turn face a tough stretch of three games in three days, starting on Saturday night versus the University of Northwestern Ohio in the first of two games to be played at the TripSports Las Vegas Hoopla Tournament. On Sunday evening, the team will play the University of St. Mary – Kansas before returning home for a match-up with Chapman University, on Monday evening.
