Riverside, Calif. - The women's basketball team fell to 0-2 in Cal Pac play with a 50-55 loss to Pacific Union College on Saturday night. The Golden Eagles struggled from the field, shooting just 29 percent from the field, on 22-of-76 shots. The Pioneers shot just 31 percent from the field (18-for-58), but connected on their final three field goal attempts (all three 3-point shots) and held on for their first Cal Pac win of the season.
La Sierra was led by Tina Fantroy who scored 30 of the Golden Eagles 50 points. She rounded out her double double with 11 rebounds to go along with three steals and two assists.
The women's basketball team falls to 4-13 overall on the season. They will look to turn the page, in search of their first conference win, as they travel to Simpson University (Redding, Calif.) on Thursday evening, followed by a Saturday night match-up at Cal State Maritime-Academy (Vallejo, Calif.)
