The men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision, on the road, at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, on Sunday afternoon. The loss dropped the Golden Eagles to 4-3-1 in Cal Pac play (6-5-1 overall).
Playing without their starting goalie and leading goal scorer, La Sierra put up an honorable fight but fell short.
Embry-Riddle took a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals in the 17th and 31st minute. Josue Meza cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 38th minute, on an assist by Dakota Shelton. That would prove to be as close as the Golden Eagles would get.
With La Sierra looking to score the equalizer, Embry-Riddle took advantage and was able to connect on an insurance goal late in the second half.
The team will start their second trip around the South Division on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to #20 Marymount University. The Golden Eagles will look to snap a three-match losing streak that started against the Mariners in a 3-0 loss back on October 6. Wednesday's match will kick-off at 7:30pm.
