Riverside, Calif. - Kristen Brummett's 23 points weren't quite enough for the Golden Eagles women's basketball team to keep pace with Bethesda University, in Saturday night's 83-61 loss. Outside of Brummett, the team struggled from the field and was unable to rebound from a slow start.
The Flames enjoyed a 22-11 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended their lead to 46-30 by the halftime buzzer. Bethesda maintained and even extended their lead to as many as 27 points over the final two quarter, on their way to victory.
The Flames finished with four players who scored in double figures. Brummett was the only player to score in double figures for La Sierra. The Golden Eagles had four players who scored five points each, in addition to Alexis Davis and Kailee Maeda who each scored six points apiece. Davis added another double-digit effort in rebounds with 10 total rebounds to lead all players.
La Sierra will now set their sights on Cal Pac play as they travel to Northern California this weekend for back-to-back games versus Pacific Union College and Simpson University.
