Golden Eagles Defeat Simpson To Complete Perfect Road Trip

Redding, Calif. - The women's volleyball team completed their Northern California trip by sweeping the Simpson University Red Hawks in straight sets (25-13, 25-22, 25-18). The win secures a sweep of the season series and a perfect 2-0 record on the road trip. The Golden Eagles are now 6-3 in conference play and 10-9 overall.

La Sierra cruised to victory on Saturday night, behind 47 total kills and an attack percentage of .318. The team also tallied a total of 10 service aces in the match.

Kiana Krumm finished with 11 kills against only one error on 23 attempts, and a hitting percentage of .435. Taylor Moran added 10 kils and an attack percentage of .400. Michele Mendizabal collected nine kills in the win.

Emily Morgan contributed 12 digs of the Golden Eagles 44 total digs, with Marissa Fregoso and Smriti Sharma sharing the setting duties with 14 assists and 18 assists, respectively.

The team will now set their sights to Providence Christian College, who pushed the Golden Eagles to five sets, in a match that the Golden Eagles won, back on September 24. The Golden Eagles are currently in sole possession of third place in the Cal Pac standings, one game ahead of UC Merced.
