El Cajon, Calif. – The men's basketball team dropped their second contest of the season in a 99-74 loss to San Diego Christian College, on Wednesday night. The Golden Eagles drop to 0-2 on the season. This is the first of two games these two teams will play this season. The Hawks will visit the Golden Eagles on December 20, just prior to the Christmas break.
The team struggled defensively, surrendering a total of 99 points in the game and 55 point in the first half alone. La Sierra found themselves in a 55-35 deficit at the half and were unable to climb their way out of it.
The Golden Eagles were unable to control the three-point line, as the Hawks scored nearly half of their points from beyond the arc, going 15-for-39 in the game. La Sierra also struggled taking care of the ball, as they committed 21 turnovers for the game.
The Hawks had four players who scored in double-figures, led by guard Isaiah Milan's 24 points.
The Golden Eagles also had four players who finished in double-figures. Kyle Hamilton led the team in scoring with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Isaac Deese added 15 points, including 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Curtis Brisbane tallied 12 points, while Christian Jackson pitched in with 11 points.
Lance Jones led the team in rebounding with nine total rebounds. As a team the Golden Eagles outrebounded the Hawks 45-36.
The team will look to rebound next week with two games, on the road, at Life Pacific College (Wednesday) and Hope International University (Friday).
