La Sierra Drops One To The Beavers

La Sierra University Baseball team dropped one game on Sunday's DH against Cal Tech. The Golden Eagles took the first game 7-6 while the Beavers won the second one 9-6.

Game started with the Beavers taking an early 1-0 lead on the Golden Eagles after the first inning. However, La Sierra would respond quickly to take the lead on top of the second before Cal Teach tied it during the bottom of the inning 2-2. La Sierra's offense delivered four runs during the fourth inning to take the lead back once again 6-2. The Beavers wouldn't go down easy as they added two runs during the sixth inning to bring the score 6-4. La Sierra scored their final run of the game on top of the seventh to take a 7-4 lead. Cal Tech felt short of a come back as they produced two runs on the bottom of the inning to end the game 7-6 in favor of La Sierra.

La Sierra finished the game with five hits and no errors for the game. The Beavers finished with 10 hits and only one error for the game. Uselton finished the game with a hit, one run, and three RBI's. Jaramillo recorded two runs, one hit and two RBI's. Erik Estrada picked up the win for the Golden Eagles.

Second game saw La Sierra fell short to the Beavers 9-6. The game was a battle back and forth between both teams for the first four innings till Cal Teac took control during the fifth. The Golden Eagles took an early 2-0 lead on the Beavers by the end of one. Cal Teach answered with three runs on the second inning to take the lead from La Sierra. The Golden Eagles responded with two runs during the third to make the score 4-3 in favor of La Sierra. The Beavers tied the game 4-4 during the fourth inning before scoring five runs during the fifth to take a commanding 9-4 lead on La Sierra. La Sierra cut the lead short one final time with two runs on the last inning of the game.

Just like the first game, the Beavers registered more hits then the Golden Eagles. La Sierra finished with seven hits while Cal Tech finish with 13 hits. DJ Gutierrez picked up the lost for La Sierra.
