Cougars Offense Takes Two From La Sierra

Golden Eagles traveled to San Diego on Friday to play against NCAA Division II Cal State University San Marcos. The Cougars offense led the way for San Marcos as they beat La Sierra 9-0 and 19-1.

Cal Stats San Marcos took charge of the game early on with a 5-0 lead by the end of three innings. The Cougars added more runs on the fifth, seventh, and two more on the eighth to end the game 9-0. The Golden Eagles finished the game with five hits and no errors. San Marcos recorded 10 hits during the game.

Gabriel Gonzalez picked up the lost for La Sierra. Gonzalez pitched five innings for La Sierra; he allowed nine hits, six runs and walked three people.

Second game of day was no different for La Sierra. The Cougars scored on each of the first four innings to beat La Sierra 19-1. Cal State San Marcos' offense had an impressive performance with 17 hits during the game. Second and fourth inning proved to be the key innings of the game; San Marcos scored seven runs on the second and added 10 runs on the fourth inning.

La Sierra finished the game with five hits and six errors. Jeff Guerrero picked up the lost La Sierra.

The losses drop the Golden Eagles to 2-5-1 overall.

The Golden Eagles will look to bounce back tomorrow as they play Providence Christian College on their first conference game of the season.
