The men's soccer team travelled to The Master's College on Friday where they fell by a final of 5-1. The Mustangs, who are receiving votes in the national poll, scored three early goals and never looked back. The Golden Eagles fall to 0-3-1 with the loss, while the Mustangs improve to 4-2-1.
The Master's took an early 3-0 lead in the match by scoring three goals in the first 20 minutes of play. Mariano Vavich, assisted by Brandon Chavez, scored the only Golden Eagles goal of the day to cut the lead to 3-1, in the 23rd minute.
The Mustangs scored the only two goals in the second half. The Golden Eagles were outshot by a total of 14-5, including 9-4 in shots-on-goal.
The men's soccer team will now turn their sites on Cal Pac play as they prepare to host UC Merced for their conference opener this coming Thursday at 6pm.
