Women's Soccer Drops Semifinal Match to Embry-Riddle

Merced, Calif. - The women's soccer team played in their first ever Cal Pac semifinal match, against #16 Embry-Riddle University, and lost by a final of 4-0. The Golden Eagles, who earned the number four seed after finishing the Cal Pac season with a record of 4-4, finished the season with a record of 12-6.

The Eagles scored early and never looked back. Ally Leara put Embry-Riddle on the board with a goal in the ninth minute. They would add another goal in the 34th minute, to take a 2-0 lead into the half. The Eagles added two more goals in the second half to complete the victory.

Lauren Holly was kept busy most of the afternoon by the Eagles pressure. Embry-Riddle sent a total of 18 total shots her direction, including 12 shots-on-goal. She finished the match with nine total saves.

La Sierra had a total of seven shots, five coming from Mariah Anaya alone, and only three of the shots were on target.

Despite the loss, the program set various records and standards to strive for next season as the program continues to grow.
