WBB Pushes Win Streak to Three With Win Over St. Katherine

Riverside, Calif. - The Golden Eagles women's basketball team won their third straight game by defeating St. Katherine College, 76-50, in tonight's non-conference match-up. La Sierra held the Flames to just 50 points, on 29-percent shooting from the field while forcing a total of 34 turnovers. The team pushes their record to 3-7 on the season.

La Sierra used a balanced offensive attack with a total of 12 players scoring at least two points in the game. The Golden Eagles held the Flames to just 22 first half points and went into the locker room with a 33-22 advantage. They outscored St. Katherine 43-28 in the second half, while shooting 41-percent from the field. The Golden Eagles turned the ball over 27 times themselves, but made up for it with 17 steals and won the rebounding battle with a margin of 57-41.

Reigning Cal Pac Player of the Week, Alexis Davis, tied Wanna Wong for the team-high in scoring. Both players each scored 15 points, while Davis fell just short of a double-double with nine rebounds. Megan Joseph had eight points and eight rebounds for La Sierra, with Megan Burt adding seven points on the night.

The women's basketball team will look to keep their streak going, on Thursday night. The team will play host to Hope International University, in a non-conference game, starting at 5:30pm. The Royals defeated the Golden Eagles, 85-67, back on November 2, in the Golden Eagles season opener.
