Riverside, Calif. - The women's basketball season came to a close with two conference losses. The Golden Eagles fell to Benedictine University, 87-84, in Thursday's game, followed by a 71-64 loss to #24 Embry-Riddle University. Thursday's loss to the Red Hawks eliminated the team from playoff contention, as the team needed to win their final two games and have Benedictine lose their final two contests. The team finishes the season with an improved record of 6-8 in Cal Pac play (11-17 overall).

La Sierra – 84, Benedictine – 87

A strong second quarter gave the Golden Eagles a 37-31 halftime advantage, but they were unable to hang on down the stretch. Alexis Davis notched a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Korie Siets scored a career-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and she also led the team with four assists. Elsie Mejia scored in double figures, finishing the game with 12 points in the loss.

La Sierra – 64, #24 Embry-Riddle – 71

Despite being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, the Golden Eagles were looking to send their seniors out on a winning note. Had it not been for a lopsided fourth quarter of play, the Golden Eagles would have accomplished that goal. The two teams went into the locker room, at the half, with Embry-Riddle holding a slight 30-28 advantage. The Golden Eagles took complete control of the game by outscoring Embry-Riddle 25-10 in the third quarter, but they were unable to hold the lead as the Eagles stormed back in the fourth and finished the game with a 31-11 advantage in the quarter. Mikayla Stitt finished with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Elsie Mejia connected on four three-pointers and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line to finish with 22 points and a team-high five assists.
