Sunday, April 29

La Sierra – 3, Simpson – 7

In the season finale, the Golden Eagles found themselves playing catch-up from the get-go. The Red Hawks scored four runs through the first three innings, to lead 4-1 after three innings of play. They scored at least one run in five of the eight innings that they batted in, and out-hit the Golden Eagle 14-10 on the afternoon. La Sierra did cut the lead to 4-3, with two runs in the fourth inning, but that would prove to be as close as they would get. Trevor Resler and Larson Anzaldo were the only two players with a multi-hit game for the Golden Eagles, with each player finishing with a 2-for-4 game, with Anzaldo leading the team with two RBI's.

The team will now shift their focus towards recruiting and preparing for the 2018-19 season. With the loss of 15 seniors on this year's roster, the coaching staff will be looking to fill the holes left by those departures. Please stay tuned throughout the coming months for announcements on the 2018 recruiting class.
