Lancaster, Calif. - It was a chilly night in Lancaster, for the men's basketball team, who struggled from the field, eventually falling by a final of 92-52, to the University of Antelope Valley. The conference loss, on Saturday night, was the third straight for La Sierra, who fell to 1-7 in Cal Pac play. The game was the start of Round 2 of conference play for La Sierra, who play five of their final seven games on the road.
The Golden Eagles shot just 28 percent from the field, including 22 percent in the first half of play. The team was unable to finish shots from the perimeter and under the basket, which quickly put the team in a hole.
Kenny Lewis connected on three 3-point shots and converted two free throws to lead the team with 11 points. DJ Everage and Saladine Ganda each tallied eight points, with Ganda adding six rebounds on the night. Cameron Jackson had a matching line with five points and five assists, in addition to two steals.
The team will stay on the road as they travel to Northern California this coming weekend. On Thursday, the Golden Eagles will visit California State University – Maritime, followed by a Saturday night match-up with Pacific Union College.
