UC Merced def. La Sierra (2-1)
The Golden Eagles women's soccer team fell to 1-4 in Cal Pac play (4-6-1 overall) after falling to UC Merced, 2-1. The team dropped three straight matches before heading to Simpson University The team has one more match remaining, this weekend, on their Arizona trip.
The Bobcats pressured the Golden Eagles all night, to the point of ending the match with a 19-9 advantage in total shots and a 10-4 edge in shots-on-goal.
The Golden Eagles broke through with their first goal at the start of the second half, which proved to be the only score of the second half and the match. The Bobcats bounced back and scored two goals in the 86thminute and the 89thminute of the match.
La Sierra def. Simpson University (1-0)
The team turned their attention to Simpson University to finish their Northern California trip with a Sunday afternoon match-up against the Red Hawks, in Redding, California.
The Golden Eagles were constantly applying pressure with 29 shots taken and 11 shots-on-goal before Nadia Cordova was able to find the net in the 89thminute.
