Our women's basketball program traveled to San Dimas, CA to compete against the Life Pacific Warriors last night, and, defeated Life Pacific 59-50 to extend their win streak to four games. Our Lady Golden Eagles improve their record to 4-1 on the early basketball season.
The Golden Eagles struggled from the field, but, found momentum late in the fourth quarter to help secure the win against a scrappy Warrior team, and, an passionate Life Pacific University crowd.
Junior, De'Brianna Hampton led the Golden Eagles with a huge double-double scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds in a dominating performance. Women's Basketball Head Coach, Kevin Mitchell, was very proud of the junior transfer with her performance.
"Hampton really put the team on her back, and, carried us, especially, in the second half. She was a force in the paint, from the perimeter, and, really attacked the boards to help us escape with a win. She is an instrumental piece to our success, and, can compete like this every night. It was good to see De Leon, and, Cole finally find a little rhythm from the perimeter to help us secure the win. Life Pacific is a very scrappy team with a "no quit" mentality, and, really disrupted our team with their competitive play. We will take a good hard look at game film, and, look for opportunities to improve."
