La Sierra def. Walla Walla, 54-50
A strong defensive stand, to start the second half, helped the women's basketball team to a 54-50 win over Walla Walla University, on Friday afternoon. The Golden Eagles picked up their fourth win of the season to move their record to 4-4 on the season. Friday's contest was the first ever meeting between the two programs as NAIA members.
After jumping out to an 16-9 lead after the first quarter of play, the Golden Eagles saw their lead quickly disappear after being outscored 14-6 in the second quarter. Trailing by one at the half, 23-22, La Sierra refocused their energy defensively. The game ultimately came down to the final minutes of play with the Golden Eagles making enough free throws down the stretch and surviving a couple unfortunate turnovers to walk away with the victory.

The Golden Eagles women's basketball team defeated Bethesda University of California, 91-40, in Sunday's non-conference match-up. La Sierra held the Flames to just 40 points, on 29-percent shooting from the field while forcing a total of 23 turnovers. The team pushes their record to 5-4 on the season.
La Sierra used a balanced offensive attack with a total of 4 players scoring at least 15 points in the game. The Golden Eagles held the Flames to just 20 first half points and went into the locker room with a 35-20 advantage. They outscored Bethesda 56-20 in the second half, while shooting 56-percent from the field. The Golden Eagles turned the ball over 12 times themselves but made up for it with 12 steals and won the rebounding battle with a margin of 44-30.
