Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Lewis Sets Record in Final Games of Season

Senior guard Kenny Lewis set the single season record for most three-point makes in a season, through the final games of the 2018-19 campaign. On senior night, versus Embry-Riddle University, Lewis entered the game needing just three three-point makes to tie the record at 60, and he did just that in the opening minutes by drilling the first three shots he attempted. He went on to surpass the mark later in the game, and added six more three-point field goal makes over the final two games of the season. Lewis now holds the record with 67 three-point field goal makes in a season.

The Golden Eagles closed out a tough season with losses at Simpson University and the University of California – Merced. This past Thursday, La Sierra lost to the Red Hawks by a final of 82-102, before closing the season with a 68-76 loss at Merced. The Golden Eagles finished the season with a record of 1-13 in Cal Pac play (3-22 overall).

Three different Golden Eagles players scored 11 points in the loss at Simpson. Kobe Stallings, DJ Everage, and Lewis each tallied 11 points in the game. Everage also led the team with five rebounds, while Lewis led the team with five assists.

In Saturday night's season finale, the Bobcats used a late mini-run over the final few minutes to defeat the Golden Eagles. Lewis ended his collegiate career with a solid performance, resulting in a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Everage was one point away from a double-double himself, as he finished with nine points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Hamilton was the only other player to finish in double figures with 13 points to go along with five rebounds.
