Congratulations to Golden Eagles outfielder, Taylor Brooks, on being named to the 2019 Cal Pac All-Conference Softball Team. The freshman centerfielder, from Madera, California, was the lone La Sierra representative on this year's Cal Pac team. Her teammates, Brandi Almaraz and Arianna Rivas were named to the Honorable Mention list.
Brooks finished the regular season with a .361 batting average and a .398 slugging percentage. She also led her team in total hits (39), runs scored (27), and stolen bases (24). She also ranked amongst conference leaders in batting average (10th), runs scored per game (4th), runs scored (9th), hits per game (4th), total hits (18th), doubles (14th), and led the conference in stolen bases per game and was second in overall steals.
The Golden Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 7-13 in Cal Pac play and 13-25 overall. The team qualified for the Cal Pac Conference Tournament, as the fourth seed, by virtue of a head-to head tiebreaker against the University of Antelope Valley. On Thursday morning, at 10am, they will play the number one seed, Marymount University, who were the regular season champions in the Cal Pac Conference.
