Riverside, Calif. – After 10 months away from competition, the La Sierra University men's basketball team tipped off the 2020-21 season at the University of California, Irvine (Irvine, Calif.) on Wednesday evening in the Bren Events Center.
After a strong start by the Golden Eagles, the Anteaters took control and never looked back, with a 104-54 final, dropping the Golden Eagles to 0-1 overall.
The Golden Eagles committed 28 turnovers allowing the Anteaters to score 37 points off the mishaps. The Golden Eagles shot 39.6 percent (18-48) from the floor and 29.2 percent (7-24) from long range, while the Anteaters shot 55.9 percent (38-68).
Uriel Lejtman led the Golden Eagles in scoring, with 15 points, while Duane Darrett Jr. finished with 11 points and Ivan Egbunike with 8 points. DJ Everage finished the night with a game high of 7 assists.
