The Golden Eagles picked up their first win of the season over the University of La Verne, 79-57.
The La Sierra University men's basketball team was on the road for a second consecutive game, but with a better result, as the Golden Eagles defeated the Leopards 79-57, bringing their record to 1-1.
The Golden Eagles had a balanced attack led by Weston McKenney who finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Talili Leaea and Michael Morrissey also finished in double figures, with Leaea scoring 15 points, while bringing down six rebounds. Morrissey finished with 11 points. Deandro Worrell led the team in rebounds with seven off the bench, while adding six points.
The Golden Eagles are back on the road tonight as they travel to Santa Barbara to face Westmont College at 7:00 p.m.
