Riverside, Calif. – The La Sierra University Women's Soccer Team picked up a third straight win in conference play with a 9-0 victory over Pacific Union College (0-1). The Golden Eagles are now 3-0 in conference play; 3-1 overall.
The Golden Eagles controlled the match right from the start, scoring just under two minutes into the first half, as Alyssa Felix put a shot on goal that was deflected off a defender and went into the net. 13 minutes later, Mariah Anaya would score from 25 yards out, putting the ball in the bottom right corner; Savannah Aborqui would be credited with the assist. One minute later, Mariah Anaya would score again off a long cross from Marissa Gonzalez in the 15 minute, putting the Golden Eagles up 3-0. The attack would continue when Maribel Maciel would score 40 seconds later from a shot taken just a few steps outside the center circle, which bounced into the goal. With 25 minutes left in the half, the Golden Eagles would go up 5-0, when Marissa Gonzalez scored off the dribble. Continuing to keep possession, the Golden Eagles would score two more times with a great strike off the foot of Natalie Callahan at the 33 minute, followed by Gisselle Huerta's goal in the 36 minute, which would put the Golden Eagles up 7-0 at the half.
Similar to the first half, the Golden Eagles kept possession and continued their attack, scoring in the 68 minute, by Arianna Perez, putting the Golden Eagles up, 8-0. The final goal in the game would come off the foot of Savannah Aborqui in the 86 minute, lifting the Golden Eagles to a 9-0 victory over the Pioneers.
Goalkeeper, Ashley Villagrana would be credited with the clean sheet. On the offensive end, the Golden Eagles were able to get a whopping 53 shots off.
