Merced, Calif. - The La Sierra University Men's and Women's Basketball Teams traveled to Central California for a California Pacific (Cal Pac) Conference matchup with, University California-Merced.
The women's basketball team came up short (50-59), but the men's basketball team was able to get their first Cal Pac win of the season, outscoring the Bobcats 63-52.
Junior forward, Uriel Lejtman scored a game high 17 points for the Golden Eagles, while senior guard, DJ Everage added 13 points and junior guard, Patric Panoosi chipped in with nine points. With this win, the men's basketball team improves to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in Cal Pac play.
On the women's side, senior guard, Sydney Wallner, scored a game high 13 points, followed closely by junior forward Kaylee Martinez with 12 points, while senior guard, Kayla De Leon chipped in with nine points. The women's basketball team moves to 7-9 overall, 0-2 in Cal Pac play.
Both teams continue their road trip, heading further North for matchups with Simpson University (Redding, Calif.) Jan. 17th.
