Mesa, Arizona - The Golden Eagles traveled to Arizona for a 3 game weekend. The ladies started strong taking the first two sets of the game with the scores of 27-25 and 25-21. Ayana Felton led the team with 19 kills, and a .308 hitting percentage, as it was a season high for the senior. Torri Lambert followed up with 13 of her own. Trying to close out the game in the following sets, the efforts were unmatched to the Buccaneers.
Keeley Meka totaled 47 assists, Victoria Mercado and Torri Lambert both had 2 service aces each.
Libero, Sophia Avery had a season high of 21 digs. Felton added 15, and Mercado added 12 of her own.
The Golden Eagles began the game on a very positive and aggressive start. The young team showed more promise tonight in their first 5 set game in conference, they are looking to pick up a win this weekend with Embry Riddle Friday, October 13th at 2pm, and Benedictine Saturday, October 14th at 8pm.
