Riverside, Calif. - Captain Damian Romero celebrates his senior night after spending the last four years as a Golden Eagle. Damian has had the honor of wearing number 10 the last two seasons for the men's soccer team, and had previously worn number 11 his first two years. In his freshman season, Damian appeared in 12 games with 11 starts scoring 3 goals in games against Pacific Union and Providence Christian, and one assist against Pacific Union. In his sophomore season, he appeared in 16 games for 15 starts for 5 goals and 2 assists. He's scored against San Diego Christian, Providence Christian, Antelope Valley, Soka, and Westcliff. In his Junior year, Damian appeared in 17 games with 12 starts scoring 3 goals while adding 2 assists. He scored against Providence Christian, Vanguard, and St. Katherine. This season, Romero has appeared in 14 games for a total of 13 starts. He's scored 2 goals both in the match against Cal Maritime. Over his career at La Sierra, Romero has appeared in 59 games with 51 starts scoring 13 goals with 5 assists for a total of 32 points.
Damian is pursuing a degree in Communications. In the future, he plans on continuing to give his knowledge of the game to young kids. His first season at La Sierra, Romero was awarded Freshman of the Year, and received Cal Pac Honorable Mention in 2020 and 2021.
Damian describes his time at La Sierra as, “My last 4 years at La Sierra have been the best 4 years of my life. I have created memories that will live with me forever.”

Question: What was your favorite sport memory at La Sierra?
Damian Romero: My favorite memory was making it to the semi finals of the conference tournament.
Q: How long have you been playing this sport and how did you get into playing this sport?
DR: I started playing soccer when I was 3 years old. I started playing because my older brother was already playing so I was always around the game and eventually fell in love with it. I also give a lot of credit to my grandpa, brother, and uncle for always trying to make me better.
Q: Who is your biggest influence in your life?
DR: My parents.
Q: Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?
DR: 2 superstitions I have are getting a gameday haircut and always wearing tape on my left wrist.
