Riverside, Calif. - Women's Volleyball has finally returned home for a three game series which began today against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott. The Golden Eagles fell in four sets with set scores of 20-25, 18-20, 25-17, 15-25.
Torri Lambert led the team in kills, earning herself 15 on the game. Not only is this a season high for Lambert, it is also a career high during her time here at La Sierra. Lambert leads the team with 84 kills this season. Torri also picked up a service ace, solo block, and block assist.
Freshman Alexis Suksdorf earned herself 11 kills on the game with two block assists. Ayana Felton came away with 9 kills and a service ace. Keeley Meka had 41 of the 46 total assists and one kill. Verenice Gonzalez added 6 kills and 1 block assist. Amaya Thomas had 5 kills with 2 block assists.
The Golden Eagles committed a season low of three errors in the first set. The first set proved this game would be a battle with 7 score ties and 8 lead changes.
The Golden Eagles dominated in the third set only trailing three times. A four point runaway on Felton's service proved to be the push the team needed to take the set, and take the lead. From a service from Victoria Mercado, Lambert ended the set with a kill, with the Golden Eagles coming away with the set.
The young team battled hard and showed much promise, but ultimately fell to Embry-Riddle.
