Women's Volleyball Earns High Cal Pac Honors

RIVERSIDE - As women's volleyball prepares for the postseason, the California Pacific Conference honors a few exceptional athletes from La Sierra with the highest end of season awards.

The Cal Pac awarded Ava Himstreet with the highest honor of Defender of the Year. She also earned herself a place on the First Team All Conference roster. Julissa Rodriguez was awarded the highest nomination Freshman of the Year, and she was the Golden Eagles pick for Champion of Character. The Cal Pac also awarded honors to Torri Lambert with a First Team All Conference award, Kiertson-Joy Kuresa with a Second Team All Conference award, and Lindsay Delgadillo with an Honorable Mention award.

Ava Himstreet plays as a defensive specialist and libero for the Golden Eagles to earn the title of Defender of the Year. She totals 467 digs, 336 receptions, 92 assists, 21 service aces, and 3 kills. She earned career records of over 1,000 digs and receptions this season. She ranks first in the conference in digs. The junior will continue amounting incredible numbers to add to her career total next season.

Julissa Rodriguez is an outside hitter for the Golden Eagles who really showcased her talents in her rookie year to earn Freshman of the Year. She totals 112 kills, 47 block assists, 9 solo blocks, 25 digs, 4 assists, and 2 receptions. She ranks fourth in the conference in block assists. Rodriguez also earns the Champion of Character award given to the individual who are the best examples of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant-Leadership during the 2024 season.

Torri Lambert has been an influential middle block for the Golden Eagles the last three seasons. She totals 208 kills, 61 block assists, 9 solo blocks, 41 digs, 16 receptions, and 5 assists. She earned a career record of over 500 kills, and has a career high of kills and block assists. She ranks 9th in conference in kills and 1st in conference in block assists, and 10th in conference in solo blocks.

Kierston-Joy Kuresa has made a large contribution to the Golden Eagles as an outside hitter this past season. She totals 230 kills, 359 receptions, 156 digs, 33 block assists, 2 block solos, 15 service aces, and 9 assists. This year she has also had many career accomplishments, such as, 500 career kills, 500 career digs, and 1,000 career receptions. She also earned a career high of kills in a season and block assists in a season. She ranks 6th in conference in kills and 9th in conference in block assists.

Lindsay Delgadillo has been the Golden Eagles top setter of the season. She earned herself four setter of the week titles from the Cal Pac. This season she totals 468 assists, 164 digs, 21 service aces, 17 kills, 7 receptions, and 2 block assists. She ranks second in the conference in assists. She passed a career high of over 1,000 digs this past season. Delgadillo will return for one more season to continue her record breaking run.
