RIVERSIDE - Congratulations to Rafael Rivera on being named the Cal Pac's first Defender of the Week and La Sierra's first Golden Eagle of the Week for the 2024-25 year. Rivera enters his senior year on the men's soccer.

Rafael scored his first goal of the season, as well as, the first goal for the 2024 season for La Sierra's men's soccer team. He also picked up his first assist of the year. Rivera came out firing for his final year by scoring within the first three minutes of play. His assist came on the second goal which tied the Golden Eagles backup, ultimately leading to their win.

Last season, Rivera appeared in 16 games for 16 starts. He scored 10 goals and had one assist. In his first game this year, he has matched his total assists from last season. He ranked 9th in conference for goals. He also shot 3 for 3 in penalty kicks, and ranked fourth in conference. Rivera picked up 3 game winners to rank 6th in conference.

Rivera continues to improve season after season through game play and leadership, and is well on his way for another incredible year on and off the field as a Golden Eagle.
