RIVERSIDE - Men's Soccer dominated against Bethesda University with a big 5-0 win. Masaya Nitta shutout the Bethesda offense with two saves on goal.
The Golden Eagles saw goals from Ulises Morales assisted by Luke Poxon, an unassisted goal from Damian Romero, Carlos Leon assisted by Marck Rayo and Grant Birke, an unassisted goal from Landon Mead, and Sean Palena assisted by Yoseph Badawiya and Tomas Godoy.
Romero picked up his third goal of the season while Morales, Leon, Mead, and Palena each scored their first goal of the season. Mead also picked up his first collegiate goal of his career.
The first three Golden Eagle goals came in the 20th, 29th, and 39th minute of play while the last two goals came in the 80th and 89th minutes.
La Sierra defense limited Bethesda to only 5 shots on the game while the Golden Eagles tallied 23 attempts on the night.
Men's Soccer opens up conference play with an away match against Soka University Sunday, September 22 at 4:00 pm. They open up conference play at home against Cal Maritime Sunday, September 29 at 4:00 pm.
