RIVERSIDE - The La Sierra University Golden Eagles were defeated by the Westcliff University Warriors with a final score of 78-64.

For La Sierra, David Odinigwe led the charge by contributing 12 points and 5 rebounds with 1 assist and 2 steals. Tyler Broughton and Maur Tablada added 10 points apiece. Ty. Supporting efforts were seen by Noel Camejo with a mix of 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal, as well as Anthony Montoya who not only scored 7 points but also provided 2 steals and 6 assists, helping maintain vibrancy in La Sierra's gameplay.

The first half of the game was a tough battle with both sides going back and forth for the lead. Ty. Broughton, Mark Boland, and Triston Broughton were some of the Golden Eagles early scorers taking advantage of the early game momentum. With Westcliff taking a slight lead, men's basketball remained resilient fighting back to take charge. A few more lucky shots for Westcliff pulled them up 6 points into the half.

The second half began similar to the first, with both teams battling back and forth. The Golden Eagles shortened the lead to within just a one point differential, but Westcliff kept control in the second half. After a few unlucky shots on the Golden Eagles end, the clock ran out and they were unable to come up with the win.

Next, men's basketball aims for a comeback as they face Pacific Union College on February 13, 2025 at 8 pm, hoping to improve their trajectory in the league.
