Julianna describes her time at La Sierra; “My time at La Sierra has been amazing. I've made lifelong friends on the basketball team, and memories that will last me forever. I've truly found a second family with my teammates and coaches here, with being an out of state student it has been hard at times being away from family. The constant love and support from teammates and coaches has helped shape me these past few years into a better person, and I'm extremely grateful for them all. The Exercise Science department has been so extremely supportive in working with me when we travel and have to miss class for games.  They have supported my  teammates and I at games when they can, and it's a great feeling to have your professors get to know you outside the classroom.”

Here is a little more about Julianna Horne.

Question: What was your favorite sports memory at La Sierra?

Julianna Horne: My favorite sports memory at La Sierra has to be the laughs we share with our team. My past two years here I've had the most funny teammates I have ever met. They have made tough times feels much lighter with their presence and laughter, and are absolutely hilarious. There is way too many times we have busted out laughing because of something someone did or said, it's hard to pick a favorite time.

Q: How long have you been playing this sport and how did you get into playing this sport?

JH: I started playing basketball around 4th grade. My sister and dad played basketball, so I followed in their footsteps. I played soccer and enjoyed tumbling, but ultimately basketball was what stuck with me and I pursued it a lot more seriously then the other sports.

Q: Who is your biggest influence?

JH: My mother has been the biggest influence in my life. She has taught me so much and all lessons I've learned from her and my family I carry with me. She has been through a lot, so her strength is something I truly admire. She is a very kind, caring, hardworking, and loving mother, so I aspire to be like her as I continue to grow as a person and young woman with dreams.

Q: Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?

JH:
I must always have an undershirt on when I play, no matter what! Also, I listen to canker music before games, and always put on my right shoe first and tie it, then my left one and tie it. My other superstition is to always have my altoids and lip gloss on the bench with me.

Q: What is your perfect pre-game meal?

JH: Jersey Mike's club sub mikes way or poké

Q: Go to pump up song or music?

JH: I like to listen to frank ocean, Daniel Caesar, anything to relax me before games, so nothing to intense

Q: What do you enjoy doing on your days off?

JH: On my off days, I enjoy playing video games with my friends, baking, and doing crafts. I recently got really into beads and making Keychains, and bracelets.

Q: Who is your favorite sports team/player?

JH: My favorite team is Seattle Storm, and favorite player is Sue Bird

Q: What are five things you can't live without?

JH: Can't live without my family, my PlayStation, my basketball shoes, my shark squishmellow, and my headphones
