GLENDALE, Ariz. - Damian Jimenez delivered a dramatic game-winning header at 89:14, finishing an assist from Adrian Navarro to lift La Sierra to a 3-2 conference victory over Arizona Christian on Sept. 17 at ACU Soccer Field. The Golden Eagles earned the road win after twice seeing one-goal leads erased, improving to 4-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play.

Elias Quintanar Macias opened the scoring in the 11th minute, calmly converting a penalty kick for a 1-0 La Sierra advantage. The Golden Eagles applied consistent pressure throughout the first half, producing 12 shots, but Arizona Christian pulled even just before the break. Caleb Anderson scored from Logan Johnson's assist at 44:11 to send the match into halftime tied 1-1.

Quintanar Macias restored the lead early in the second half. He converted his second penalty kick in the 54th minute, completing a 2-for-2 night from the spot and putting La Sierra ahead 2-1. Arizona Christian responded again at 68:31 when Nikarro Williams scored from Johnson's second assist, setting up a tense final stretch with the score tied 2-2.

La Sierra kept pushing and created a flurry of chances in the closing minutes. Quintanar Macias struck the crossbar at 86:20, had another attempt stopped by an Arizona Christian defender at 87:28 and forced goalkeeper Emiliano Vega into a save at 88:12. The pressure finally paid off following a late corner, as Adrian Navarro supplied the assist and Jimenezburied his only shot of the match for the decisive goal.

The Golden Eagles finished with a 24-16 advantage in shots, including a 9-8 edge in shots on goal, and took six corner kicks. Quintanar Macias led the attack with two goals, seven shots and four attempts on target, while Navarro took three corners in addition to recording the winning assist. Abraham Perez provided a steady presence in goal, making six saves across 90 minutes as La Sierra secured a hard-earned conference victory.
