Angwin, CA - It
was another quick turnaround for the Golden Eagles who traveled to the Napa
Valley, after their victory over William Jessup last night, to battle Pacific
Union College, early this afternoon. Today's match was the second meeting
between the two teams. The Golden Eagles
duplicated the first match, by defeating the Pioneers in three straight games,
25-19, 25-19, 25-16.
The Golden Eagles played their third match, in as many days,
on their northern California trip. In
addition to the victory over William Jessup and PUC, La Sierra began the trip
with a win over UC Merced.
Junior middle hitter Ashley Sanchez and senior outside
hitter Shelby Madigan each contributed with nine kills. Madigan also pitched in with 12 digs. Colleen Stafford and Tiana Whitlock split the
setting duties, with Stafford collecting 14 assists and Whitlock adding nine
assists of her own.
With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 13-6. They will finish up the road trip with a trip
to Atherton, CA, to face Menlo College. The
Oaks will enter tomorrow night's match with a 3-5 record, looking to snap a five
game losing streak. Tomorrow's match is
scheduled for a 7pm start. The match will also be streamed live on the Menlo
