Riverside, Calif. - The Golden Eagles men's soccer team made it three wins in a row, with a 3-1 win over Bethesda University, in tonight's non-conference match, at La Sierra University Field.
Kenny Bonanken put the Golden Eagles on the board by capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 17th minute.
Just one minute later, Brandon Chavez scored off an assist by Raymundo Maldonado, to give La Sierra a 2-0 lead.
The Flames cut the lead in half with a goal in the 34th minute, but the Golden Eagles enjoyed a 2-1 halftime lead.
Early in the second half, Chavez scored his second goal of the match (unassisted), giving the Golden Eagles a little insurance, and securing the 3-1 victory.
Goalkeeper Jaime Valencia allowed one goal while stopping five chances by the Flames.
With the win, La Sierra improves to 4-6 overall (3-2 in Cal Pac play). They will play their final non-conference match of the season, next Thursday, when they host California State University - San Marcos.
