The women's basketball team won their third consecutive game, with a 70-53 win over Pomona-Pitzer.
After defeating the Sagehens 68-51 just two weeks before, the Golden Eagles traveled to Pomona for tonight's rematch and from the tip it was all La Sierra.
The first six minutes were played relatively evenly, but with the score tied at 8-8 the Golden Eagles used a 12-1 run to build a lead they would never relinquish.
La Sierra took a 39-21 lead into the halftime break, cruising to the 70-53 victory.
Tina Fantroy led the Golden Eagles with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Destiny Melton added 12 points and seven rebounds, while freshmen Vyvy Tran notched a career high 10 points.
Faith Fantroy contributed eight rebounds, seven assists, and six steal in the win.
As a team, the Golden Eagles had an impressive 20 assists on 27 total field goals, while shooting 50-percent on 27-of-54 shooting from the field, including 8-of-20 from the 3-point line (40%).
The women's basketball team improves to 3-5 on the season. They will look to make it four in a row on Saturday night when they play host to #14 The Master's College (NAIA DI).
