La Mirada, Calif. - The women's basketball team dropped to 0-2 on the season after falling, 81-43, at Biola University, Saturday night. The Eagles used a combination of strong defense and high-powered offense to slow the Golden Eagles.
Biola jumped out to an early 19-3 lead after the first quarter of play and never looked back. They were paced by guard DeMoria White who led all players with 21 points, six rebounds, six steals, and five assists.
Chelsie Baham who scored 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three assists led La Sierra. Kristin Brummett added eight points and five rebounds, while Kailee Maeda finished with seven points, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Freshmen center, Alexis Davis, had six points and seven rebounds on the night. Hannah Ascencio also finished with six points.
Tonight's game was the first of back-to-back games against Biola. The Golden Eagles will host the Eagles on Tuesday evening, at the Alumni Pavilion, in their home opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
