Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

WBB Suffer Tough Loss to #1 Westmont

Riverside, Calif. - The women's basketball team fell to 4-10 on the season with tonight's 73-34 loss to #1 Westmont College. The Warriors, who are the top ranked team in the latest NAIA Division I women's basketball poll, used a dominating second and fourth quarter to cruise to victory.

The Golden Eagles started the game with lots of energy and intensity and found themselves trailing 22-12 at the end of the first quarter. But the Golden Eagles were only able to muster four points in the second quarter, with the Warriors taking a 41-16 cushion in the halftime break. The deficit proved to be too much to overcome against the top ranked Warriors who have only one blemish on their season record.

The Golden Eagles players scored a total of eight points each (Kristen Brummett, Alexis Davis, and Monique Rippingale), while five others scored two points apiece, which accounted for La Sierra's scoring. Davis led the team with 10 total rebounds.

Next up for the women's basketball team will be Bethesda University on Saturday night. The Golden Eagles will host the Flames in their final non-conference math-up before opening Cal Pac play next weekend, in Northern California.
