La Mirada, Calif. - The women's basketball team dropped their first road test of the season, in a 107-52 loss at Biola University, on Saturday night. The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 1-1 on the season. This was the first and only meeting between these two teams this season.
Biola was clicking on both ends of the court as they held the Golden Eagles to just 27-percent from the field, while shooting 57-percent on the offensive side of the ball, including 45-percent (15/33) from beyond the arc.
The Eagles enjoyed a 53-21 lead at the halftime break and scored no fewer than 25 points in any one of the four quarters.
Despite the efficient play of the Eagles, the Golden Eagles had 64 shot attempts and earned 24 free-throws, where they shot 16-of-24 (67%).
Biola had a total of five players who scored in double-figures, with DeMoria White lead the way with a game-high 21 points.
Elsie Mejia led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 14 points, to go along with four rebounds and four steals. Alexis Davis added 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
DeShields Fajardo tallied nine points, while Rachel Hahn and Mikayla Stitt contributed seven points apiece.
The team returns home on Tuesday evening to host St. Katherine College. The non-conference game is scheduled for a 7pm start time.
