Mesa, Ariz. - The Golden Eagles men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss, in the final match of this weekend's Arizona trip, at Benedictine University. The Redhawks scored seven minutes into the overtime period, to walk away with the 2-1 win over the Golden Eagles. La Sierra drops to 7-8 on the season, including a record of 4-4 in Cal Pac play.

Despite finishing with an advantage of 10-2 in shots-on-goal, the Golden Eagles were only able to only able to put one of those shots in the back of the net, when Abel Cornejo tied the score at 1-1, in the 54thminute of the second half.

The Redhawks walked away with the victory to remain in fourth place in the conference standings, with a record of 7-2 in conference play.

With three matches remaining, the men's soccer team will look to finish strong, starting with Thursday's home match, versus Simpson University. The Red Hawks are currently 2-10 on the season (1-6 in Cal Pac play). Thursday's match is scheduled as the second match of a doubleheader, starting at approximately 8pm.
