Women's Soccer Suffer First Loss of Season

Riverside, Calif. - San Diego Christian took a narrow victory, 1-0, in tonight's non-conference match with La Sierra. It was the first loss of the season for the Golden Eagles who drop to 2-1 on the season. Despite outshooting the Hawks, the Golden Eagles were unable to find the back of the net.

La Sierra had the best scoring opportunities, and finished with a 19-8 advantage in total shots. The two teams each finished with five shots on goal, but it was San Diego Christian who was able to sneak one by the Golden Eagles defense for their second win of the year.

Marissa Gonzalez led all players with a total of five shots, while Jennifer Medina added four shots on the night.

The team will travel to the University of St. Katherine, on Tuesday, September 18, for their final non-conference match before opening Cal Pac play next Thursday, at Sierra Nevada College. Tuesday's match will be the first of four straight road matches for the Golden Eagles.
