Baseball Unable to Avoid Sweep at UAV

Lancaster, Calif. - The Golden Eagles baseball team loss three games, on the road, at the University of Antelope Valley. The team lost a single game on Thursday afternoon, followed by a Friday doubleheader. The losses drop the team's record to 5-22 in Cal Pac play, and 9-27 overall.

In Thursday's loss to the Pioneers, the Golden Eagles were shutout and held to just three hits in the game, eventually losing 0-4. In Friday's first game, the Pioneers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and never looked back, with the Golden Eagles scoring their lone run of the game in the top of the second inning, before losing by a final of 1-15, followed up a 3-4 loss in Game 2. In Game 2, the Pioneers scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the 2ndinning. The Golden Eagles were forced to play catch-up in all three games and were never able to close the gap.

The team will close-out their season next weekend when they travel to Marymount University. The two teams will play a single game on Friday afternoon, followed by a doubleheader on Sunday.
