Riverside, Calif. - Alyssa Felix scored two goals in her collegiate debut to lead the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 victory in tonight's season opener against the University of St. Katherine. La Sierra hosted the Firebirds in tonight's opener and pushed their overall record, against the Firebirds, to 5-1, by winning their fifth straight in the head-to-head series.
Felix scored in each of the two halves, starting with a goal in the 31stminute off of an assist from Marissa Gonzalez, beating the Firebirds goalkeeper to the far side post. Soon after the halftime break, Felix added her second goal, finding the back of the net off of a feed from Nadia Cordova.

The team will be back in action on Thursday evening, at 6pm, when the Golden Eagles host Arizona Christian University for a non-conference match. This will be the second meeting between the two programs. La Sierra defeated the Firestorm, 2-0, in last year's match.
