Riverside, Calif. - A day after splitting their first two matches of the La Sierra University Invitational, the women's volleyball team had a convincing victory over Walla Walla University, 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-23). The win pushed the team's record to 5-2 on the season with five non-conference matches remaining before they open conference play.
The Golden Eagles finished the match with a 50-24 advantage in total kills, as they outhit the Wolves by an attack percentage margin of .326 to .126. Kiana Krumm led the team with 12 total kills, while Veronica Ramirez led the team in attack percentage, with an impressive .700 hitting percentage (8 kills, 1 error, 10 total attempts). Adiva Joseph also pitched in with 11 kills, while Mariah Morris added nine kills in the win.
Setter Angala Jensen distributed the ball and notched 37 assists, while Krumm also led the team defensively with 11 digs. Jensen and Joseph were next in line with nine digs and eight digs, respectively.
Next Up: The women's volleyball team is back on their homecourt, next Tuesday, August 27, when they host #18 Vanguard University, at 7pm. La Sierra will be looking for their first-ever win over the Lions, in women's volleyball. Last season, Vanguard defeated La Sierra in four sets.
