Men's Soccer Looks for Standout Season

RIVERSIDE - The Men's Soccer team prepares for another incredible season under the lead of Head Coach David Trevino. David enters in his eighth year as the head coach. He is assisted by Carlos Trevino, Bobby Gutierrez, and Fransisco Pons.

The Golden Eagles carry over an impressive 19 returning players from last season. They add an additional 6 athletes to the new recruits of the 2024 season.

La Sierra men's soccer kicks off their season against Bethesda University-California for a home match Aug. 19 at 7:30 pm.

Caden Bennett, captain and senior, shares what he's most excited for this upcoming season, “I am excited, because this is the best team I have been a part of. It's the team that has the most potential. My goal is to win conference and head to nationals.”

New Golden Eagle Cristian Prieto adds on, “I am very excited for this upcoming year, because this is a new team for me and we all gel together as a unit. I am excited for the new experience with a new team. We all get along.”

Men's Soccer rank fifth in the preseason poll. With a large majority of returning players and a few key additions, the Golden Eagles are set to prove they are the ones to beat this season. By putting in the work in the off season, and hustling these last few weeks during practice to prepare for the year, many of the men's soccer players state that this is one of the best teams that they have played on.

The Golden Eagle community looks forward to the fight and drive we will see this year from men's soccer.
