La Sierra Stuns The Master's with Second-Half Rally

Santa Clarita, Calif. -  La Sierra University Golden Eagles make thrilling comeback to defeat The Master's University in an exhilarating GSAC match up.
The La Sierra University Golden Eagles men's soccer team staged a comeback to clinch a 3-2 victory over The Master's University Mustangs. 

The first half saw The Master's University taking an early lead, wrapping up the half with a 1-0 scoreline, thanks to a goal from Benja Mugabi. Despite the initial setback, La Sierra came out with renewed determination in the second half. Their resilience paid off spectacularly as Vinicius Goncalves drew the game level, continuing his hot streak from with 4 goals in the last 2 games. Continuing their offensive effort, Jason Pineda then put the Golden Eagles ahead with a deft finish, assisted by Jonathan Arriaga. La Sierra's Carlos Leon scoring what would be the game winning goal, putting the Golden Eagles up by 2, assisted by Landon Mead, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory for the Golden Eagles. As The Master's University responded with a second goal from Clinton Maws, to cut the lead to one, tension escalated with time running down.  

Goalkeeper Abraham Perez played a pivotal role, making crucial saves to lead La Sierra to triumph. The team's strategic play in the second half underscored their tactical adaptability and fighting spirit. This victory adjusts La Sierra's season record to 9-3-1 overall and 7-3-0 in the league, moving them 2 points ahead of ACU and a top the GSAC standings. 

The Golden Eagles look forward to their next matchup against Life Pacific University (played at Citrus College) on Thursday, October 23rd aiming to continue their winning momentum.
