Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Downs Nobel, 5-3

RIVERSIDE - La Sierra men's soccer faced Nobel University in a Sunday night match at La Sierra University where they defeated the Knights, 5-3. Sean Palena left the night with a hat trick and some.

Vinicius Goncalves kicked off scoring for La Sierra. A shot from Carlos Leon and a Knights defensive save put the ball in front of Adrian Navarro who also got off a shot with a goalie save. Goncalves stayed in the mix and received the ball off the save to place it into the net.

Palena then scored the next four goals for the Golden Eagles with his first and fourth being scored from free kicks just past the 18. Palena also scored two of his goals in the 52nd minute of play just 40 seconds apart. His four goals earned him a career game high of goals in a game.

Carlos Leon and Damian Jimenez assisted Palena in his second and third goals.

As a team, the Golden Eagles totaled 21 shots with 14 shots on goal with 12 saves in the game.

Abraham Perez spent another 90 minutes in goal with 9 saves on the game. Jose Alcala contributed to the Golden Eagles victory with two defensive saves and Alvaro Romero added one defensive save.
